Friends,It is with a sad heart that I share news about our friend Donna Norman. She fell this week in the parking lot of her lawyer’s office in O’Fallon. Suffering a head injury she developed a brain bleed that was not recoverable. Her family gathered Thursday morning to say their goodbyes and discontinued life support. Our prayers lift Donna to God’s presence and for God’s comfort to Donna’s family and loved ones. It is never easy to say goodbye to such a loving and kind friend and sister in Christ. As details are available about a memorial service, we will keep you informed.
Our hearts are also saddened by the death of Bob Hysong, Chris Hysong’s father. Funeral services are scheduled for noon on Friday, February 18th at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, MO. Let us keep Chris and Stephanie, along with the Hysong family in our prayers.
Our Alpha Class has moved meeting times to 12 p.m. on Sunday afternoons in the Cafe at WUMC. You can bring a brown bag lunch or enjoy a light refreshment. It is a discussion group regarding our faith in Jesus Christ with a video and discussion questions. Church members and seekers are welcome. This week our scripture is II Kings 2:1-18. It’s the story of Elijah passing on the mantel of ministry to Elisha. A dramatic tale of power and mystery. I look forward to seeing you. A special treat this week, our Hand Bell Ensemble, The Rolling Tones will be offered our introit, special music, and offertory. I always enjoy their sounds of joy and inspiration.
See you Sunday, Pastor Mark
