Dear Friends,
The events around WUMC have picked up and wow is it hectic at times? That’s a good thing and well worth the effort of planning, executing, and cleaning up afterward. I love it!
Upcoming events like our church dinner Wednesday, October 12th at 5:30 p.m. is a Chili Cookoff. Have you entered your pot of chili to be enjoyed? The sign-up is just outside the sanctuary and CLC entrances so look ahead and plan accordingly. It’ll be a great night of delicious chili. By the way, WUMC will provide cheese, onions, bowls, and drinks. If you would like to bring brownies, we’ll have ice cream too.
Trunk r Treat is Friday, October 14th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. It’s been a long time since we offered such an event so tell your friends and bring the little ones in their costumes. It’ll be spooky fun!
I want to thank our Trustees for their good work. We’ve taken bids to roof the parsonage and replace two HVAC units in the north and south hallways of the building. It’s a process and keeping the building in good condition is a labor of love. We’re taking bids and choosing wisely. which company to go with.
This Sunday, World Communion is observed. I appreciate the liturgy and representation of different cultures in the bread offered. It means something dear to my heart as we remember the body and blood of Christ given for our atonement. I hope you will come and remember what Christ did for you. The scripture for Sunday worship is Luke 17:5-10. Take and look and think about your mountains that don’t seem to ever move yet you’ve prayed and asked God for help. We’ll talk more Sunday morning.
See you on Sunday, Pastor Mark
