Dear Friends,
I have been on a call with other clergy of the Missouri Annual Conference. It was good to see and hear from Bishop Robert Farr. We heard from candidates who will be ordained at Annual Conference and others who will enter provisional members as deacons and elders along with local pastors who will be licensed to lead local congregations like our own Judy Hill. The United Methodist Church is alive and well. There will be hiccups and bumps in the road but we continue to serve Christ and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
If you notice three piles of dirt in the yard of the church, those will be cleanouts for our gray water disposal. The line runs four hundred feet from the building to the city sewer but we never had cleanouts. The project will be complete in a few days. Thanks to Joe Tebo for his assistance in this project and to our Trustee’s for caring for the building.
This coming Sunday is Pentecost. We wear red to symbolize the presence of the Holy Spirit. We’ll be reading Acts 2:1-4 if you would like to read ahead to prepare. It will be a great day because two baptisms: Maximus Slane and Nora Snyder will be presented by their parents at the 9 a.m. service.
Let us gather for worship on Sunday to lift our voices to God in praise, our prayers of concern and listen for the voice of God in the reading of the Holy Bible. It’ll be good to see you all in person or on-line.
Pastor Mark
