Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who attended our church dinner hosted by our youth last night. Your generosity added up to $596 toward our mission trip to Bayou La Batre, AL in June. I hope you enjoyed the pancake breakfast/dinner. Everyone had smiles and left satisfied. The youth was great at cooking, serving, and cleaning up. They are a great group.
This Sunday, we will confirm the faith of eight and baptize four of our youth. They studied, participated, and hopefully remember learning about the Christian faith. We began on March 2, Ash Wednesday followed by weekly lessons. The youth were great participants, They did their lessons and participated well. My prayer is that they continue to grow in Christ and participate in the life of the church as well as they did in confirmation.
Next Wednesday, May 18th at 6 p.m. I’d like to have an open conversation with members of the congregation. There have been social and church issues lately that we have not been able to address in worship that you may want to discuss. I may not have definite answers but we can ask our questions and discuss how you feel. Let’s meet in the Cafe at 6 p.m.. I’ll have refreshments and we can have an open conversation.
This Sunday, we will look at John 13:31-35 and engage the words of Jesus regarding “Loving One Another.” It seems so simple but the disciples struggled with it and we do too. I look forward to seeing you and worshipping together.
God bless us every one, Pastor Mark
