Dear Friends, 

Our Confirmation Class met last night and one of the assignments was to greet a neighbor and to talk with them. Two of the seven students felt comfortable enough to walk over to their neighbor’s house, knock on the door and say, “Hello”. It would be a bold move to knock on a neighbor’s door and to have a conversation. I wonder how many of us as adults feel the same as these students? Are we self-conscious of who we are? Do we feel accepted by those living around us? 

Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mathew 28:19,20

We must find our boldness in order to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Sitting still and texting or posting on Facebook is one way but our faith is one of action and outreach. It’s touching lives and making a difference. We have the light of Christ, are we willing to share it? 

We opened the sanctuary for worship on Ash Wednesday. Last Sunday we had a good number in attendance but I wonder if we have gotten out of the practice of attending worship? It is time to dust off our Sunday church clothes and come to worship. It is time to gather and to lift our voices in song, to open our hearts in prayer, and to hear the word of God. Remember your roots; by our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness we are members of the United Methodist Church, specifically, Wentzville United Methodist Church. 

This week we are reading Luke 13:31-35. The Pharisees came to warn Jesus about Herod but Jesus had work to do and in three days he would move on. What false warnings have we received and how will we develop our faith for our future self? This Sunday, let’s come to worship and to see our friends, and to be loved. Let’s come to be inspired to live for Jesus.
