Live. Love. Grow.

We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends:

Earlier this summer we took a poll during three worship services on the Connect Card about changing the worship times in order to add a third service. The results were shared with the Church Council and staff to make sure the following changes would be appropriate. The first service will remain at 9 a.m. The second service will move up to 10:30 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 16th. No new service will be added. Hopefully this will fit with your Sunday schedules and make worship a meaningful experience.

We are seeking volunteers to lead and assist our Children’s Church program. There are children who attend both services so we will provide PreK-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade Children’s Church opportunities. Children and young families are a vital part of our congregation, so let us welcome them with Christian Education and a community that shares their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Hill Fest is coming Saturday, September 8th from 3 – 7 p.m. We have three musical groups, an inflatable obstacle course, a rock climbing wall and bounce house for the children. Our youth are offering face painting and the toilet toss game. Leon Williams has arranged for a car show. Our Wentzville Fire and Police will have static displays and three food vendors will provide good things to eat. It will be a great time for everyone.

We have discussed so many characters this summer in the sermon series, “Faces of our Faith.” This week we will look at Lydia from Acts 16:11-15, 40. Without her influence and support, would Paul and Silas have been successful in Thyatira in Asia Minor or today’s modern Turkish city of Akhisar? Please take a look at this passage and ask yourself, “Who is like Lydia today, and how would we receive her today?”

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Mark
