Dear Friends:
I am so glad for the cooler temperatures and the season of autumn. It offers so much: football games, colorful leaves, comfortable temperatures and bon fires. I hope you can enjoy it as well.
Church Potluck Dinner and Concert Series Kick-Off
You won’t want to miss all the fun on Wednesday, 9/11. We begin with a Church Potluck Dinner at 5:30 pm. Bring your favorite dish to share & enjoy a meal with your church family. Then at 6 pm we head down to the Pavilion (weather permitting) to hear the Lindley Creek Bluegrass Band. This is the first event in our new Concert Series for 2019-2020 – it’s free and open to the public so invite your friends and neighbors!
Sunday, September 29th is a fifth Sunday and a day of service to our community. There are many ways to be in service so what do you see that you would like to share with five or six friends? We will gather at 11 a.m. and join together in acts of mercy as we serve our community. What is your desire that a few friends could help you to complete? Let us know this coming Sunday.
We continue our sermon series, New Places for New People. Our scripture this week is from Mark 5:2-13 with the central thought of “A Courageous Invitation.” It is not easy to reach out to people who seem dangerous or disturbed. Jesus was bold and unafraid. He made a difference in one man’s life who made a difference in many other lives. How will we follow the example of Jesus?
See you on Sunday,
Pastor Mark
