Dear Friends:
It is good to be home from our daughter’s wedding last weekend. We look forward to seeing the pictures from the photographer, but first the wedding couple are on their honeymoon and nothing is more important than that.
This Sunday we begin a new sermon series, “NP4NP” (New Places for New People) with a look at Insiders and Outsiders. You’ve felt that special feeling as your best friend greets you, or a group of friends welcomes you to an event. But what about those times you felt out of place or wanted to be welcomed but no one noticed or welcomed you? Jesus spoke to that and gave us lots of examples of how to be welcoming and include others. Let’s talk more on Sunday!
Parking Lot Party is this Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We have a Bubble Truck, Bounce House, games and food trucks from Kona Ice and Frankly Sausages… plus a special visit from our fantastic Wentzville Firefighters and Police officers. It’ll be fun.
Calling all singers and bell ringers Our adult choir and bell ensemble have begun rehearsals. The youth bells begin this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. They welcome everyone with a desire to learn and to worship God in music.
Red Cross Blood Drive – We are hosting a blood drive in the Christian Life Center on Friday, 8/30 from 12:30-5 pm. There are still appointment times available and you can register online at www.redcrossblood.org. It’s quick, it’s easy — and your donation saves lives!
Larry Kirkpatrick Memorial Service There will be a memorial service for Larry Kirkpatrick in the Chapel at Jefferson Barracks at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 9/3. Larry passed away on Sunday, 2/10 due to injuries he received when he fell on the ice. He joined Wentzville UMC in April of 2016, was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and attended the men’s Bible study group on Tuesday mornings at Bob Evans. His memorial service is open to all.
See you on Sunday,
Pastor Mark
