Dear Friends,
A great UMW Turkey Dinner was enjoyed last evening. The Café was full and everyone went home happy. There were lots of smiling faces, great conversations, and best of all, pumpkin pie. Thank you, ladies!
This weekend Bishop of the Missouri Conference, Rev. Robert Farr will be our special guest preaching on John 20:19-25 and Luke 24:13-32 with a message titled, “Can You See It”. I am looking forward to Bishop Farr’s visit and participation in our worship. Come, be a part of what God is doing at WUMC!
We have a full complement of nursery staff with Glenna Head, Peyton Hoenig, Shenita Brown and Ashley Bergmeyer. There will be two nursery attendants each week so that you can bring your child or grandchild with you to church and if they get fussy or you need a break, we’ve got you covered.
Our 2022 Stewardship Commitments have come in with 82 households stepping up to support the ministries of WUMC. Our Ongoing Ministry column has commitments for $238,412 and Building Fund $101,022. I normally discuss this topic with our Church Council and Finance Committee but now is the time for us to consider our practice of faith. Reading the Holy Scriptures daily, praying individually and corporately, study and discussion in Bible studies and Sunday School, attending worship and fasting are what John Wesley would call “The Ordinances of Faith.” I encourage you to return to worship if you have been away. We are practicing the precautions the CDC and St. Charles Health Dept. recommend. We will offer Alpha Classes soon for those seeking a deeper walk with Christ and there are Adult Sunday school along Bible Studies meeting in-house and off site.
Let us encourage each other to seek the presence of God in Christ our Savior and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Mark
