Dear Friends,
I want to announce our new custodian, Henry Davis. He is a retired custodian from Ft. Zumwalt School District and currently working full time for the City of St. Peters as a custodian. Our part-time position is a bonus for both the church and Henry. You may see him but his work will mostly occur when we’re not in the building. I am confident he will offer many years of faithful service. Welcome to WUMC Henry!
We are still looking for two nursery workers. A great part-time job for adults and high school students. Please share this opportunity with those who looking for work. The job market has been very difficult for employers but I trust God to provide the right persons to care for our youngest members.
Have you heard the news? We’re having a pancake breakfast on the 4th of July, Independence Day! 8-9:30 a.m. we’ll serve pancakes and bacon, fruit and beverages in the cafe and CLC. There will be one worship service at 10 a.m. with a special combination of music, prayer, scripture reading, and message. Best of all, we’ll celebrate Holy Communion so plan on attending and taking part in this special moment for our congregation. All proceeds from our pancake breakfast will go to pay down our mortgage so come prepared to be extravagantly generous.
I am looking forward to this coming Sunday. We are concluding our sermon series, “What to Do With Evil”. Our focus this week is ‘Holy Living.” Jesus gave his disciples instructions of what to do and how to do it found in Luke 10: 1-11. it’s an interesting passage and if followed, those receiving the disciples would experience great blessing but if not, it doesn’t bode well. I look forward to sharing this service with you.
God bless us, every one. Pastor Mark
