Jan Tucker, Pastor of Connections (OLD)
Pastor of Connections
Luke 10:27 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and Love your neighbor as your self.”
In the summer of 2009, my husband, Rob, and I joined the church and I became the Pastor of Connection.
We have three grown children. Micki lives in O’Fallon, Mo and has a son, Jonathan, who is a Junior at Timberland High School. Elizabeth lives in south St Louis and is the publisher of Alive magazine. Robbie and his fiancé Lauren have just returned from a 6 month stay in New Zealand/Australia and are opening a restaurant in downtown St Louis. My husband and I love to travel. We visited Robbie and Lauren in New Zealand and Australia last year and are planning our next trip in 2012. I also like to make jewelry and stained glass, arranging flowers and decorating. In 2010 Rob’s mom, Glenna, moved in with us and the three of us enjoy rides in the country, road side vegetable stands and morning devotions.
If you took a cross country road trip, what food would you take? Rob and I are always talking about hopping into ‘our Chevrolet to see the USA’…..and that would mean filling the motor home with lots of healthy snacks and gallons of water and coffee. Of course we would be stopping at the small cafes along the way to taste the wonderful cuisine found in every area of our country.
What was the first car you had? My first car was a green Mercury Comet (196??) that my parents found deserted in a neighbor’s pasture. They purchased the car and my dad fixed it up so it was ready for the road. The car had been out in the sun for so many years that it’s finish was almost burned off and the green was dull and streaked. The C on the logo, Comet, had broken off, so my friends named the car “The Green Vomit” – what a description!!
What is your proudest moment? I have been blessed with a wonderful family. My husband and I have been married 31 years and are more in love today than yesterday. We have three fantastic children who are each so unique and have become responsible adults who strive to make a difference in the world around them. When I look at all that God has given me through my loving family, I am so proud that I am a part of this fantastic group of very special people.
If you could go on vacation to anywhere, where would it be? I would love to head to Europe and then the Middle East. Right now my goal is to head to Italy and visit the Tuscany area. I would also like to expand my Holy Land travels to include Egypt and other religious sites in that region.
