Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

What a week we have enjoyed and like most January weather patterns, it’s changing. Maybe snow, maybe sunshine, perhaps warmth from the Gulf will roll our way to make January tolerable. Please take care of yourself, Cold and flu season is upon us.

This coming Sunday will be a great day in worship. Our Rolling Tones will offer their lovely music in the first service accompanied by Megan Steber. Sean Morlock will add her musical abilities in the second service then off to college they go for another semester. We will miss them but Easter is coming and summer break follows, so ladies, may God bless and keep you in your studies.

Monday, January 16th is Martin Luther King Jr holiday. A special celebration honoring Martin Luther King will be held at 10 a.m. in the Pearce Hall Chapel. Rev. Dr. Anthony Witherspoon will speak and soloist Erica Reed will offer special music. Thankfully the weather is cooperating for a peace walk down Pearce Blvd following the service. We will dismiss at the flagpole following a prayer for our community. I hope you will attend and support the movement for Peace and Justice in Wentzville. This is one day we can stand together to support those who struggle in our community.

Our scripture for Sunday is John 1:1-5. John’s gospel identifies Jesus as the Son of God and part of the creative process which offers light and life. I look forward to seeing you in worship.

God bless us every one! Pastor Mark
