Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

Brrrr it’s cold and getting colder but wait, a warm spell is coming next week so just in time for Christmas, Mother Nature is sending a surprise gift – winter. Thanks Mother Nature.

I look forward to seeing you on Christmas Eve. We have a “Family Service” at 5 p.m. in the Christian LIfe Center. A Nativity Pageant is planned and the little ones have prepared for weeks. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. We will observe Holy Communion and end with singing Silent Night in candle light. It’ll be a meaningful service.

A “Traditional” service is offered at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. Our choir has prepared a special song, “Go Calmly into Christmas”. We will have a message and children’s time along with holy communion and Silent Night sung in candle light.

Hopefully the weather will have passed so stay tuned. If we close due to weather, we will send out a message via TV (NBC, CBS and FOX), our web page, FB, Twitter and text messaging. We don’t want anyone to fall or to have an accident. If you want to sign up for Text Alerts, text WUMCNEWS to 888-918-4482. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Sunday morning worship is at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. We will sing Christmas hymns, our choir volunteered to sing an anthem and members of Redeemed will offer a prelude and offertory music. If you would like to come a little early, starting at 10 a.m. we’ll have coffee and baked goods in the cafe. It’s not Sunday unless we have worship and coffee so come and enjoy Christmas at WUMC.

Merry Christmas, Pastor Mark
