Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,
This has been a week of variety. We celebrated the lives of Matthew Carroll and Sam Henson. It was sad to say goodbye because they were deeply loved. We will remember the lives of those who transitioned from this life to eternal life on Sunday, November 6th at both services. I hope you will come and share with those who grieve the loss of their loved ones.

Some good news, Bailey Hoenig was recently married to Colby Patterson on October 28, 2022. Congratulations Bailey and Colby, may your lives be forever blessed with joy and happiness.

A special project is “Children’s Church at Home”. Carol Ann will be sending a video of her Sunday Children’s Church to every household with school-age children. Many families have obligations and schedules that limit participation in worship, Children’s Church, and/or Sunday School. This is a new alternative to teaching our children and including their families in interactive video lessons by Carol Ann Miller. I hope you will enjoy it.

We are concluding our Stewardship Drive for 2023. It is important to respond for two reasons. First, it provides a self-imposed goal of how we will live for Christ in the coming year. Our membership vow includes prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness, so how will we participate in our financial giving to support the ministries of WUMC and what goal will we set for attending worship along with bible studies or mission projects? The second reason has to do with our financial gifts which help our Church Council and Finance team to plan ahead by establishing a budget for each department, i.e. Trustee’s, Children’s Ministry, Youth, Admin, and staff salaries. We’ve had many costly repairs this year that we paid with the reserves on hand but now they are diminished.

I hope you will consider making a stewardship commitment and prayerfully increase your giving to make possible the many great ministries of WUMC. Together we can accomplish much for Christ. Stewardship cards will be available Sunday if you have misplaced your letter and card.

I look forward to seeing you in worship on Sunday, Pastor Mark
