Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark
Welcome to the first day of Fall. I love this time of year. Cooler temperature leaves changing color and Friday night football with marching bands and a nip in the air. It’s good to experience the change in seasons and to enjoy what Mother Nature provides us.
I want to thank those of you who bought or brought goods for our WSD Nurses. Sorting and boxing is the next step along with delivery next Monday or at least that’s the goal. See or contact Lisa Morganthaler if you are available to assist with delivery.
Our Community Garden at Memorial Park is coming to a close. It is hard to know how many people benefit from this outreach because the gate is open and the vegetables are readily available when they are ripe. I thank Randy and Debbie Kinschuh, Erika Storms, and Kermit Sandorf who helped water, weed, and deliver as vegetables were ready. Next year you too can help to plant, water, and enjoy the Community Garden.
Our Sleep in Heavenly Peace involvement was part of a much larger national effort several weeks ago, Bill Brunner is happy to share the numbers with you. It is a ministry of caring for the less able children who do not have a bed to sleep on. Financial donations are welcome along with helping to deliver and set up beds. It is a joy to see the children’s faces when the bed is delivered. Thank you Bill for your leadership in this ministry.
This week we will read from Luke 16:19-31. Take and look and consider where your regrets may be and how the Holy Spirit will lead you to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community.
God bless you and this community of faith.
