Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark
It is a beautiful day and promises to be a great weekend. We’ve got so much planned. The Concert Series kicks off Saturday, August 27th at noon. Three bands throughout the afternoon, a dunk tank and bouncy house, face painting and tattoos, food, beverages and yard games. Come early and stay late. It’ll be a great day.
Sunday, August 28 our worship service will be at 10 a.m. under the big top followed by a chicken dinner. All you have to do is bring your appetite. If you’re concerned about walking out to the tent you may drive, the ground is firm and no worries about getting stuck.
Thank you for supporting our Adopt a Family Back to School fair. Hundreds of packs of paper and pencils, crayons and dry erase markers were donated. It’s a good start for our teachers and students as they return to school.
The Men’s Group and AAF Golf Tournament is Saturday, October 1st. That seems like a long time but its not and golfers are encouraged to sign up. It’ll be a fun day and there’s a silent auction for those who don’t like to golf. Something for everyone so sign up, plan to attend, it will be great.
Did you hear the United Women of Faith have a learning session September 10th from noon to 3 p.m. at WUMC. The topic is “The Church and People with Disabilities.” Lunch is provided and a small fee of $5.00 helps to offset expenses. See Sally Adams on Sunday to sign up.
Those who like to hammer, saw and drill have a special event coming. Sleep in Heavenly Peace has a build day on Saturday, September 10th from 9-noon and 1-4 p.m. See Bill Brunner for more details.
That a lot but it’s time to get back into the swing of things and now is the time.
