Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark 07/28/2022

Dear Friends,

What a week! Record setting rains that nicely filled our pond and watered the grass, flowers and trees. We are dry inside the church but there are many who suffered water damage. No one from our congregation that I know of but the residents of O’Fallon and St. Peters have opportunities to be in service. Clean-up after a water event is hard work and smelly but the homeowner is glad for the help.

We have our Adopt A Family box in the lobby for three weeks to collect wide ruled paper, #2 pencils, spiral notebooks, 24 ct. crayons, black dry erase markers, and post it notes for teachers. Instead of backpacks we will supply each Wentzville school with an assortment of school supplies. This is a good opportunity to share the wealth and give generously.

This Sunday we will read Luke 12:13-21. Jesus was asked to resolve an estate issue but he declined but he shared a parable about a wealthy farmer who had a good harvest but not enough space to store his excess. Come to hear the rest of the story.

Did you hear, we will have a family fun day on August 14th. Noon to 3 p.m. with crafts, refreshments and fishing. There is plenty of room and lots of help so plan to be here.

Also, August 27th is our Hillfest event, noon to 5 p.m.. Three musical groups, games, dunking tank and a new inflatable game along with our bounce house. It’ll be fun. Tell your friends and share the event on Facebook and Messenger. It’ll be a lot of fun.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday, Pastor Mark
