Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark
I am excited for our Youth Mission leaving on Sunday, June 19th at 5:30 a.m. and returning Friday, June 24th. We are going to Bayou La Batre, Alabama. The organization is Youth Works which offers community VBS and services for local residents (painting, yard work, light repairs). We have five youths and three adults so keep us in your prayers. It’ll be hot but a good outlet for Christian love and compassion.
Our preacher for Sunday is Dr. Mark Engelhardt. His message is “Blessings and Woes” with a text from Luke 6:17-26. It promises to be a good day for worship at 9 and 10:30 a.m.. I offer my thanks to the United Women in Faith for leading worship last Sunday and providing a delicious brunch beforehand. You all are wonderful!
Our hearts are saddened as we acknowledge the passing of Ed Cottle on Sunday, June 12th. His Celebration of Life service will be at Pitman Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28th at 10 a.m.. Ed was a big fan of Mizzou basketball and football. He was a faithful follower of Jesus and lovingly cared for his family. He will be missed.
Did you see the upcoming Princess Tea Party on July 9th 12p.m. to 2 p.m.? Ariel and Belle will be present with good things to eat and songs to enjoy. What a treat!
We have a Singing Summer Session for our children ages 4-10 years of age. It starts Thursday, July 7th. Please see the announcement in the bulletin and church calendar.
Last weekend Chris and I along with Reggie and Karen Daniel attended the Missouri Annual Conference in Branson, MO. Chris and I are reappointed to our previous appointments. A joy was to witness Judy Hill being licensed as a part-time local pastor. It is good to continue as your pastor and to serve Christ in Wentzville and the surrounding community. Let us move forward in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ as we fulfill our mission: “To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
God bless us every one, Pastor Mark
