Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark
What a beautiful day. A great day for the start of Cardinal Baseball, Go Cards! I don’t have tickets but I’ll be watching and cheering them on.
Our Adopt a Family met last evening to discuss the distribution of WSD Nurses Needs. All Wentzville Schools asked for supplies of food and clothing for the children and youth. The need surrounds us and school nurses see it first hand so thank you to those who support our AAF ministry.
This coming Sunday we celebrate Jesus coming into Jerusalem prior to the Passover celebration. What a day that must have been. The disciples laid their cloaks on the ground and by-standers cut limbs and laid them on the path before Jesus as he was paraded into the city. Those in the know shouted, “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” and Hosanna, Hosanna.” It was a special day as their hopes and dreams were coming true. We will celebrate Jesus as well. Our palm branches may not be the same as our coats and garments but the King of Kings, the Lord Almighty is making his way into our lives, to be the atonement for our sin. Read Luke 19:28-40 and imagine the scene. Jesus riding a donkey led by Peter or John. The crowd was crying and shouting words of encouragement. The Pharisees and temple leaders were troubled and told Jesus to control their outbursts. We will talk more about this event and what is to come.
By the way, don’t forget our Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. and Sunrise Service on Easter morning at 6:20 a.m. with breakfast to follow. Our Easter services are at 9 and 1030 as well.
God bless us everyone, Pastor Mark
