Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark

What a pleasure it was to be together in the sanctuary for Ash Wednesday last night. We had 60 in attendance with our adult choir singing a lovely song, “Oh Lord, My God”. I hope you will take a look at our website or Facebook to view the service. It was a call to observe a holy Lent.

Some of us think of abstaining from certain foods or restricting our TV time or turning off video games. I prefer making time for a quiet talk with our Heavenly Father. Reading a chapter or two of scripture, meditating on a verse, and reflecting on what that means to me. A notebook or journal is important because we can think and write our thoughts and feelings. We can make a conscious effort to attend worship as we prepare for the Passion of Christ. Let us make this a holy season of Lent.

We began our 2022 Confirmation Class last evening. We have eight confirmands, maybe nine so please keep them in your prayers as they learn about their faith and place in the Church.

Our scripture Sunday is Luke 4:1-13. Take a moment to read and reflect on this passage. How does it speak to you and how would you identify this and the trials and temptations in your life?

See you on Sunday, Pastor Mark
