Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark
Another breath of winter weather is upon us, but it seems short-lived, so we will see if the weatherman is correct in his prediction. I am ready for Spring, but we have several weeks of winter on the calendar, so Mother Nature has a few more surprises, I’m sure. Hang in there and be safe if you must go out.
The season of Lent begins next Wednesday, March 2nd. We will observe Ash Wednesday in the sanctuary at 6:30 pm. I pray that we all will observe a holy Lent and prepare ourselves for the passion of Christ. Confirmation class for students in seventh grade and above will begin March 2nd following the service. It is a six-week class which will meet subsequently on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. COVID19 delayed several eligible students from attending last year, but this year has a lower positivity so we can safely meet.
There is good news for those who prefer meeting in the sanctuary for worship; we will return to the sanctuary beginning with Lent. Our second service remains in the CLC at 10:30 am on Sundays if you are concerned about social distancing and airflow. We will maintain the current seating pattern.
Our focus this week in worship is found in II Kings 6:1-17. Elisha is speaking to a couple who have everything but a child. The prophets speak and their prayer is answered but there is more to this story. Please take a moment and read our passage and consider how God was present for you “When All Seemed Lost.”
God bless us every one, Pastor Mark
