Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

I am so glad for the sunshine and warmer temperatures. Last week had its problems but today the snow is melting and getting out of the house is much safer. This coming Sunday may be cold but travel will be much better. I hope you are looking forward to attending worship and seeing your friends. You have been missed.

This coming Monday, February 14th, our volunteers along with the youth from Benedicite Home School will distribute supplies from the St. Louis Food Bank. Folks from the community arrive between 10-noon for food. It’s great fun and very satisfying to help those in need. We’ll take pictures and share them.

Our sermon series, “Hope for Hard Times” continues with the theme, “When You Feel Down and Out.” We’re looking at Elijah and his encounters with King Ahab and Jezebel along with the prophets of Baal. He had several “wins” when it came to the Lord God supplying his request or need but there were moments when Elijah was unsure of what to expect next or where to go. It seemed like the entire world was unhappy with him. Take a look at I Kings 18:41-46 and we’ll talk more on Sunday.

God bless us every one, Pastor Mark
