Wentzville United Methodist Church

Weekly Greeting from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

The kindness and generosity of this congregation is amazing. I had set a high goal of $5,000 for Heifer International and $5,000 for Sleep in Heavenly Peace and you came through. We have received at the end of December $4,972 for SHP and $3,222 for Heifer Intl. That is amazing! We have a few more donations to add to these totals that arrived in January but what a radically generous congregation. Well done!

A group of ladies met after church on Sunday to discuss sending care packages to the medical staff at SSM Lake St. Louis. They are providing the following: Hershey’s Kisses or Hershey’s miniatures, Peanut Butter or Cheese Cracker (single serving type packs), Travel size hand lotions, $5 gift cards to Starbucks (nothing larger), $5 gift cards to Bread Co (nothing larger), Chap stick, Gum or Breath Mints. You can purchase a package or case and drop it off in the lobby on Sunday or bring it to the church office during business hours. Let’s get behind this and offer our loving care to those who work so hard and are so dedicated to health care and healing.

This week we will discuss the first recorded miracle of Jesus. It’s found in John 2:1-11. Please look this passage up and meditate on it for a moment. Ask yourself, “What miracle is within me to share with a friend, loved one, or neighbor?” We are created in God’s image and have the power of the Holy Spirit within us. Let’s begin to put that to work for the glory of God.

See you on Sunday, Pastor Mark
