Our Christmas Bell Concert is Sunday, December 12th at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be Christmas carols and bells ringing to lift our spirits in Christmas cheer. Bring your friends and family. It’ll be great.
The Adopt A Family gift tags are still available with 20 or so gifts tags and tags for gift cards so cash donations are fine too. If you have taken a tag, please bring that item unwrapped and with its tag to the church this coming Sunday and at the latest Wednesday, December 15th. Distribution will be on Sunday, December 19th in the afternoon. Let’s get shopping!
Our Christmas Eve services are planned and preparations are being made. Friday, December 24th at 5 p.m. is our family service and 7 p.m. is the more traditional service. Both will offer Holy Communion and Candlelight during the singing of Silent Night to conclude our worship. I look forward to worshipping with you in person.
Sunday, December 26th will offer a breakfast from 8:30-9:30 a.m. followed by worship at 10 a.m.. It’s Christmas so we are planning a time of fellowship over cinnamon rolls and breakfast casseroles. Something different and fun for those without families close by or bring your family and friends, there will be plenty.
This week our Advent focus is on Joy with a reading from Luke 3:7-18. John the Baptist is proclaiming the coming of one greater than himself that John is not worthy to loosen his sandals so let’s find out how joy fills our lives as we give ourselves to Christ while looking forward to his birth on Christmas morning.
I hope you have received your Christmas letter and considering how much to give for your Christmas offering. Our Tithely portal is open with a Christmas offering designation. Wouldn’t it be great to support a family with a pair of cows or sheep, a hive of bee’s or a pair of chickens? It warms my heart to think we can provide a warm bed for a child sleeping on the couch or floor. Clean sheets and a new pillow sounds good to me and even better for that family. I am certain we can meet our goal.
God bless us every one. Pastor Mark
