We-Mail from Pastor Mark
The days are getting busy with public schools starting soon. College students are heading off to college and meeting their dormitory friends. Life is getting busy. I hope all goes well for our students and teachers. They are in our prayers as the time nears to ring the bell and begin learning. Let us prayer for their safety, assurance and good health. Let us pray for the teachers, school administration, and support staff. God bless them every one.
We have special events coming. Our concert series begins Saturday, August 28th at 3 p.m. with three unique bands under a big tent in our church yard. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy a hot dog or brat prepared by our Men’s Group. Our youth will offer snow cones as well. Sunday August 29th we’ll be under the tent for worship at 10 a.m. followed by a church picnic. Bring your appetite and enjoy the fellowship.
Several Bible Study groups will begin in September. Pat Williams will teach the book of Genesis at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoons beginning September 2nd. Katy Lewis has an evening Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. beginning September 9th in the pastor’s office as well.
Our choir will begin rehearsal Wednesday September 1st with an ice cream social at 6:30 p.m.. Our Bell Ensemble will begin Monday, September 13th at 6:30 p.m. with a time for socializing as well. It feels good to get together and talk with your friends, practice music or learn biblical themes. I am hoping and praying we remain safe, practice good health and begin to live life to its fullest.
This week’s sermon will continue our discussion about Abundant Mind Body and Spirit with the focus on Hope. Please read Isaiah 43:1-2 and think on God’s promises and care for us.
See you on Sunday, Pastor Mark
