We-Mail from Pastor Mark – Happy New Year!

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! The last day of 2020 hopefully will go out with no fanfare but just another day with uncertainty and caution. I am looking forward to the day when we can safely gather and worship. Learning from the direction of the Holy Spirit and God’s holy Word, living life filled with love and compassion. I pray the coming year has a sense of peace where friends can embrace and share their lives with no restrictions. I remember John 3:16 “For God so loved that He gave his only begotten Son.” God loves us and we can love God. Love carries us forward into a new year, embrace it.

We will continue to offer one live service at 9 a.m. until the positivity rate for St. Charles County drops below 20%. You can safely attend wearing a mask and socially distanced if you do not feel comfortable watching online. We will be reaching out in the coming days to verify our membership data for a proper audit of our church roles. The new database has revealed some peculiar statistics regarding membership. If nothing else, 2020 has taught us some new lessons about technology. We will send a letter in January about our goals for 2021 and your giving record for 2020. The change over from one database to another split our ability to record your offering so there will be two pages reflecting your giving record. I am sorry for the inconvenience but it is the only way to accurately reflect those transactions.

Our Church Council will meet via Zoom on Saturday, January 9th to begin a new year with a few new leaders and a healthy team ready and able for the tasks ahead. Pray for them and for our members who have been sheltered in place to remain safe. It has been a heavy strain being separated and alone. I am praying for you. I love you all and feel grateful to be your pastor.

God bless us every one, Pastor Mark
