Wentzville United Methodist Church

We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

We have three general rules as United Methodists: Do no harm. Do good. Stay in Love with God. It seems simple but harder to do than you think. With the current positivity rate of 30% in St. Charles County, 1/3 of the county residents have an active case of COVID19. The hospitals are full and at times patients are waiting for beds. Please stay safe, wear your face covering, wash your hands often and keep six feet apart. Our Missouri Bishop, Rev. Robert Farr has asked all United Methodist Churches to offer virtual services. We have been doing that. He asked us to keep six feet apart, wear masks and wash our hands. We have done that. One step farther as our Church Council Leaders at WUMC have decided is to offer one service and to broadcast via Facebook Live at 9 a.m. and to offer a recorded version on the website. We are doing that. If you must attend worship in person, the doors will be open, seating will be six feet apart and masks will be required. This will be our means of worship until the positivity rate drops below 20%. Please stay safe, stay healthy, stay home.

I apologize for the technical difficulties these past weeks. We moved to the CLC and everything was working. We turned on the lights and powered up the computer to connect to he internet and nothing worked. We got out our cell phone and tried but to no avail. We will try again Sunday. Cross your fingers and say a prayer, it may just work. Also, please keep our friends: Morlock, Mulherin and Welch families, Howington, Brown and Sandorf family members, all affected by the COVID19.

We are beginning the season of Advent on Sunday, November 29th. We have daily devotion books that follow our sermon series, “Those Who Dream.” These are available in the office, following worship and can be mailed if you prefer. We have Advent Calendars for families with children along with activity pages and a holiday treat to be delivered. I love the holiday season and look forward to sharing it with you.

We will offer a weekly devotion on the internet using Zoom on Wednesday’s at 6:30 p.m. A zoom initiation will be sent out early next week. We will begin on December 2nd.

I am praying for a safe and blessed holiday. A season of preparation as Advent begins and health for those affected by the corona virus.
