Wentzville United Methodist Church

We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends,

I am sorry to say this COVID19 is not going away after so many months. We are wearing our masks, keeping our distance of six feet, and sanitizing regularly. Please observe these guidelines when attending worship or coming in or out of the church. It is easy to forget or to let your guard down but let us be diligent in staying safe and protecting ourselves and others from the spread of the coronavirus.

The Adopt A Family Golf fundraiser is just about here, Saturday, October 3rd.  There are 116 golfers and dozens of Hole Sponsors. A few openings remain for volunteers to assist so please take a look and participate as you are able. Sign up HERE.  It is one way to do the work of serving the community and the Kingdom of God. Adopt A Family is supplying the Wentzville School nurses with selected items that are needed during the course of the day that is not provided by the school. These are welcomed supplies for the nurses who care for our children from kindergarten to seniors in High School. Thank you all for your good work!

This week we are continuing our discussion from Philippians 2:1-13. Please take a look and consider the nature of Christ and how he emptied himself by coming to earth and living life as we do, then dying on the cross for our sake. What a gift of love and forgiveness but Paul does not stop there. He says, “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…to will and to work for his (God’s) good pleasure.” (2:12-13). We are called to a higher purpose, to be the people of God. It is a calling that requires discernment of what God’s will is and how to apply ourselves to it. Let’s talk more on Sunday about this.

God bless us every one, Pastor Mark
