We-Mail from Pastor Mark
Dear Friends,
Have you heard? Did you sign up? It’s almost here! Party in the Parking
Lot is next Wednesday, September 9th at 5:30 p.m. We would normally
have a Pot Luck Dinner with all our favorite dishes from home but the
pandemic has put a stop to that but we can be socially distanced and
visit our friends while having a bite to eat. Dukes BBQ has a menu for
box dinners available, see the sign-up tab below. Dinners will be
delivered hot and ready to eat. Bottled water and soda will be offered
by the Men’s Group so bring a lawn chair and card table if you like. No
Strings Attached will play music while we dine and visit with our
friends in the parking lot at church.
I would like to hear
from you via email, letter, or telephone if you have questions or
comments on how we are doing as a church staff serving this
congregation. The pandemic has stopped many of the activities we
normally enjoy. Worship has been offered over the internet along with
limited access for personal participation. We cannot open the doors and
proclaim, “Come on in everybody” until community spread of the virus is
reduced and a vaccine has been delivered to the majority of the
community. Until then, we are doing our best to be in touch, keep you
informed, and to offer worship with the tools we have. It is a difficult
time for all of us. Our goal is to meet you where you are and deliver
God’s grace and mercy.
This week we are reading Romans
13:8-14 and deciphering how to love our neighbor with God’s love. Our
world is tossing and turning with many influences from natural
disasters, political debates, community uproar, and protests; the list
goes on and on. Let’s make time for God and take in a quiet moment of
worship. It’ll be good for our soul and outlook in life.
See you Sunday on the internet or in person, Pastor Mark
