Wentzville United Methodist Church

We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends:

The weatherman is not predicting sunshine and roses for the next few days, so pay attention and check the TV stations Sunday morning if the weather turns ugly. We will close if there is ice. As long as the roads are passable and the lot is clear, we are safe to hold church services. Notices of closure are also posted on the church phone recording, our Web site and our Facebook page.

Monday, January 20th is the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. At 10 a.m. there will be a Peace March from Pearce Hall to Pete’s Drive-in via Pearce Blvd. The evening celebration begins at 7 p.m. at Holt High School. I hope you will come and support the diversity of Wentzville and walk for peace and justice in our community.

Kermit Sandorf has tickets to the Billikin Basketball game against Fordham at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 26th. Great seats for just a little bit of money; half-price tickets are $17.50 each. Please see Kermit if you’re interested.

This Sunday our Scripture is from Isaiah 49:1-7. It is Human Relations Sunday, so our emphasis is on how God speaks to us about being faithful and practicing justice.  I look forward to seeing you and discussing this concept while in a whirlwind of social and political issues that divert our attention.

See you on Sunday,
Pastor Mark
