Wentzville United Methodist Church

We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends:

Happy New Year!

It is a new year with new opportunities to Live for God, Love our Neighbor and Grow in Christ. Some of us may have new resolutions and that is great. How about this goal for 2020? Volunteer at church in a role you haven’t served in before. Greeters, worship hosts and café crew are a few we see every Sunday. Behind the scenes could be painting a hallway or classroom, yard work around the church or caring for the Community Garden at Memorial Park. You can visit our home-bound or lead a bible study in your home or at church. Leading is being bold enough to get the conversation going and guiding the thought process. Let’s move forward from where we’ve been.

A few updates:
Church Office hours for January are Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Donna Norman, our Church Administrator, is having daily medical treatments so office hours are limited in January.

Wednesday, January 8th is our first Church Dinner for 2020. It’s a POTLUCK so bring a dish with something tasty to share. Our Church Council Leadership will have updates for the coming year to share.

United Methodist Women meet at 12 Noon on Thursday, January 9th. If you haven’t been involved, this is a good time to attend a meeting to meet new friends and think about mission projects for women and children.

This Sunday is Epiphany. We celebrate the Magi who came to worship the newborn king. A prophesy hundreds of years before can be found in Isaiah 60:1-6. Take and look and we’ll talk more on Sunday.

God bless us every one,

Pastor Mark
