Dear Friends:
We have exciting news! Our lights in the Christian Life Center have been changed from a high vapor to LED, and boy, what a difference. They are much brighter, cost less to operate and can be dimmed. Woo Hoo! When you turn the switch on they come on immediately, so no more waiting. If they are turned off, we don’t have to wait 15 minutes for the lights to cool and come back on. What a joy. We will perfect the lighting on the stage so be patient; we hope to have it all dialed in soon so it is a work in progress.
We are saddened for the passing of Winnie Anglin. Her Celebration of Life service is tomorrow, Friday, 11/22 at 2 pm in the church Sanctuary. Visitation is also here from 1-2 pm.
The Central Methodist University Chorale will be here on Sunday, 11/24 at 7 pm in the Christian Life Center. Concert is free and open to the public. We are expecting a large crowd so invite your family and friends and come early. Thanks to all our host homes; the students all have a place to sleep on Sunday night!
If you ordered Butter Braid product for Thanksgiving, it’s here and can be picked up on Sunday. Kermit Sandorf will be in the church lobby to process your payment and get your order together.
This is Christ the King Sunday, the end of our Christian calendar. We remember the sacrifice Jesus offered for us and the difference following Christ makes in our lives. If you would like to read ahead to prepare your heart, Luke 23:33-43 is our Scripture of the day.
Following the second service we will have “Stone Soup” for lunch and then decorate the Christian Life Center, Sanctuary and church Lobby for the Advent and Christmas season. There is enough for everyone, so come and enjoy some fellowship, good soup, and help decorate the church. Remember, “Many hands make for light work!”
See you on Sunday,
Pastor Mark
