We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends:

I am getting accustomed to the cooler temperatures by getting out jackets, blankets and cold weather gear. The 2019 Farmers Almanac tells us it may be a long hard winter, so prepare and be ready is all I can think at the moment. It’ll make our work day this Saturday from 8-Noon much better because our labor will keep us warm!

We have had several loved ones pass in recent days. Wes and Louise Norton grieve the loss of Wes’ brother, Wendel Norton. Bob and Sharon McNeill grieve the loss of Bob’s mother, Melba McNeill. Our thoughts and prayers extend to our friends. We will have a moment of prayer and remembrance on All Saints Day, Sunday November 3rd.

This coming Sunday our Scripture from Luke 18:1-8 speaks to persistence and justice. We live in a world of politics and adjudication over issues of personal rights and their violations. It is a complex issue requiring more time than we have to discuss in worship, but what was the issue and the solution one woman sought in the Scriptures? Let’s take a look and consider how it impacts our lives today.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Mark
