Wentzville United Methodist Church

We-Mail from Pastor Mark

Dear Friends:

We are looking forward to a great service on Sunday as we celebrate 50 years at 725 Wall Street. Rev. Bob Hemmerla was the pastor on that first Sunday in our new location. The Linn Street church was too small, but held great memories of worship services, baptisms, holy communion, weddings and funerals. One benefit of our current location; no steps and room for Sunday school classes. The future is bright as we continue our journey in worship, service and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

I am sorry if you were not able to enjoy last evening’s dinner. Our Adult and Youth Bell Choirs hosted a wonderful Italian feast with lots of delicious baked goods. It was yummy.

We have eight children signed up for Ignite Mobile Camp taking place July 8-12, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the month of February the cost is only $100, a $25 discount. There are three areas of focus: Athletics, Creativity and Technology along with lots of games, fun, and best of all, learning about God’s love. If you haven’t signed up, now is the time to receive the discount. We will need 8-10 host homes and volunteers to help make lunch and snacks. Share the news and come on board!

This coming Sunday we will read Acts 2: 1-21, the story about Pentecost, and discuss how the Holy Spirit fuels our work and leisure, learning and sharing God’s love in Christ. I am sorry we missed last week, and will notify everyone of weather cancellations via our Web site, Facebook, church telephone message and local news stations’ cancellation notices. Let’s hope Mother Nature will take it easy this week.

Lastly, we mourn the loss of Larry Kirkpatrick who died last Sunday. Details of his memorial service are being determined.

God bless us every one,
Pastor Mark
