We-Mail From Pastor Mark

Dear Friends:

I am glad for the season of Advent to finally arrive. The stores put up their displays and played Christmas music as soon as Halloween was over, but we waited for All Saints Day and Christ the King Sunday before making our preparations. Each Sunday we will celebrate the next theme of Hope, Love, Joy and Peace. Our sermon series and Advent Devotion Booklets name each week slightly differently because we are Drawing Near to: Wonder, Truth, Justice and One Another. Be at peace with one another and seek ways to express your hope, love, joy and God’s peace with family members and beloved friends. God bless us in this season of Advent.
This Sunday we will remember our children who have passed away. During this season of joy and celebration, let us offer support to those who grieve the loss of a loved one’s life. Our prayers and support lift those in the grip of sadness. May God comfort and offer his grace in the midst of our sorrow. God be with you.
Our Adopt-A-Family Christmas distribution is this Saturday from 10-2. Many hands make for light work, so come offer a little help as parents select gifts for their children, and their children have a little fun in the gym with their own gift making and fun activities. It is a special time to love our neighbors with God’s good news.
God bless us every one,

Pastor Mark
