The weather was frightful yesterday if you had to get out, but what a beautiful scene across the church lot to the lake. It makes me happy to be your pastor. The parking lot is cleared now and with warmer, sunny temperatures, it will be great on Sunday. There’s always tomorrow so make the best of today my mother was apt to say.
We will conclude the Book of Ruth on Sunday. Take a look at the entire book. It’s only four chapters, but our focus will be on Chapter 3 verses 1-5 and chapter 4, verses 13-17.
The book of Ruth is as much about Naomi as it is about Ruth, but Boaz plays a big part in our story this week. I hope you will take a moment and listen for the voice of God today.
Sunday evening at 7 p.m. we will join Faith UCC for a Thanksgiving Service (Faith is located at Pearce Blvd. and Kent Drive). We have so much to be thankful for. Our children, grandchildren, employment and retirement are just a few, along with a community that is growing leaps and bounds. I hope you will join me in praising God for our many blessing in a service of praise and thanksgiving.
By the way, our November dinner on Wednesday night was a great success and our youth say, “Thank you!” We are beginning to work and plan for our 2019 mission trip. It’ll be great.
