We-Mail from Pastor Mark
It is All Saints Day. We remember those who have gone before us and speak into our lives today. What was it about your loved one that gives you hope and strength in difficult moments? What joy and laughter did you share? Each of us has someone who speaks into our lives; they point us toward Christ and remind us we are loved. Remember them and spend a few moments in prayer reflecting on God’s goodness and the life your loved one shared with you; then give thanks.
Saturday, November 3rd is the Annual Turkey Dinner sponsored by the United Methodist Women. Serving is from 4-7 pm and tickets can be bought at the door. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and kids 5 and under are free. Come hungry and bring your friends. It’s a great time to visit friends while enjoying a great meal.
On Sunday we will remember those who have passed from this life to the next in the past year. Our Scripture for the day is John 11:32-44, Jesus raising Lazarus. I wonder, what do you hope for and who is your witness? Who speaks into your life and reminds you to be faithful, fruitful and follow Christ? Give it some thought and be ready; I’ll ask for a witness on Sunday.
We had a great return for our Stewardship Sunday but a few of us were out of town, forgot our cards, or hadn’t had time to consider what God is leading to in our stewardship. As we come forward for Holy Communion this Sunday, there will be a container to receive your stewardship card. I encourage you to make a commitment. Maybe you’re doing all you can; say so. Maybe you’ve considered a regular study or prayer group but haven’t gotten to it. Now is the time to set a goal and put it in writing.
It’s your stewardship. We’re encouraging you to do it.
See you Sunday,
