We-Mail from Pastor Mark
I love this time of year. The cool temperatures, colorful leaves and brisk walks make for a fun event like hay rides and bonfires. This Sunday our youth will host a family fun event with pumpkin carving, games, bounce house, hot dogs, S’mores and treats. We’re gathering from 4-6 p.m. and depending on the weather there could be some trunk or treating in the parking lot. Come out with your little ones and have some family fun.
The October Gospel Jam scheduled for this Saturday, 10/27, has been cancelled.
Don’t forget to sign up to help serve or donate supplies for our United Methodist Women’s Annual Turkey Dinner, Saturday, 11/3 from 4-7 p.m.
If you would like your photo to be included in the new church directory, and were unable to schedule an appointment with the Lifetouch photographers, we have 2 options: You can bring an existing photo to the church office, or you can have your photo taken by Bob Anderson on Monday, 11/5 from 3-7 p.m. No copies will be available. You can either walk-in or call ahead to the church office.
We’ve been talking about stewardship this month. We’ve identified the things that get in the way of our discipleship such as those pesty idols. We’ve thought there would be more to go around if we could pay off our debt and faithfully save those hard earned dollars. Stewardship is more than just money or service; it’s a mindset that says, “I will love God and worship with my entire being. I’ll love my neighbor with the resources I have and grow in Christ by practicing my faith in all the ways that I’ve learned over the years.” Stewardship is a process of growing and becoming who God created you to be. It’s called sanctification, otherwise known as “being Christlike.” I look forward to this Sunday as we take a step of faith that 2019 will become a year when our faith becomes more of a reality than ever before.
See you Sunday,
