Dear Friends:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people in North and South Carolina as Hurricane Florence approaches landfall. May God protect those in harm’s way and send ministers of mercy to help in the recovery effort.
Thank you to those who attended Hill Fest last weekend. What a difference a day makes as this week is dry and comfortable. Obviously Mother Nature had other plans.
New Worship Time & Children’s Church
This Sunday our Modern Worship moves from 11 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., so set your clock 30 minutes earlier and come for donuts and coffee in the Sunday Café before worship. We will also have two classes for Children’s Church during both worship services; one class for PreK-Grade 2, and a new class for Grades 3-5.
This Sunday we continue our sermon series, “A Good and Beautiful Community” with a focus on being Christ-Centered. Our scripture is Romans 12:1-8. Last Sunday we discussed being “peculiar,” but being “Christ-Centered” has many thoughts and ways of keeping Christ at the center of our lives. What if we surrendered to Christ and allowed the Spirit of God to lead us instead of trying to lead the Holy Spirit? Just a thought.
For those of you who enjoy golf, just a reminder that the Adopt-A-Family Golf Open is Saturday, 9/29, and there’s still time to sign up. Registration forms are in the church lobby wall racks, or you can check with Kermit Sandorf. I’m certain he’ll be happy to talk with you.
See you on Sunday,
Pastor Mark
